Executive Summary: Understanding the Media Landscape
Understanding shifting media usage patterns is essential to developing the right product and marketing strategies going forward. In 2005, the NAA and ASNE Boards launched the Audience Development Initiative (ADI) to help newspapers understand media usage trends, develop strategies for growing audience and identify media industry leaders who are successfully growing total audience share.
In the fall of 2005, the ADI partnered with both the Donald Reynolds Institute at the University of Missouri School of Journalism and Kannon Consulting in Chicago to analyze existing consumer behavior and media usage research. Over the next several months, we will be releasing a series of reports to help newspapers develop new products and services for this evolving marketplace.
